Phillip's Blessing

Phillip was blessed on August 12.  It was an interesting day at church because a new church building had just been built and that day we had a stake meeting to discuss who was going to the new building and that a new ward was being created.  So we didn't get to bless Phillip in the chapel.  We had to wait until the meeting was over and then we blessed him in the Relief Society Room.  I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first but I actually liked it.  It was very intimate and it was nice to have family close.  I felt love and peace in the room.

We had to wait a little while before the bishop got there so we decided to take the pictures first.

Ah, the joys of getting a bunch of people together for a picture.

By the way, it says Phillip, not HLI PILP like my dad teased.

Summer Fun

There are so many fun things to do in the summer.

Photo shoots with the baby...

Feeding the ducks...

Going to the zoo...

Realizing you brought the tartar sauce instead of the mayonnaise...
(by the way, it didn't taste good)

Being cool with shades...
Which one do you like better?

Phillip is HERE!

Finally, after a few false starts, Phillip is finally here.

Norah was soooo excited to have her little brother finally out of Mommy's tummy!

I got her and Phillip matching shirts.

David and Phillip also got matching shirts. My silly dad, when he saw David's shirt without Phillip's shirt he asked if David was advertising. Oh dear!

I was having some fun photographing Phillip.

We're so glad Phillip is here.  He is such a sweetie.  He loves to smile and laugh.  He loves to watch people during the day and he sleeps well at night.  He is such a pleasure to have in our family.

Easter, part 2

After church on Sunday, we went to my aunt's house to celebrate Easter with my mom's family.  I brought cupcakes, of course. Thank you, David, for baking them, twice, for me.
While I was at the Galveston Ward party, he baked them for me but I told him the wrong time for how long to bake them so they burned.  The second time, after he went out and bought more ingredients, he baked them while I took a nap, being pregnant is draining. SO thank you again, David!

My aunt had a volleyball net set up and somehow, David ripped his shorts!

Time for another Easter egg hunt!

Confetti eggs

As soon as we left my aunt's house, Norah fell asleep again for about an hour.  Unfortunately, it took us about 5 1/2 hours to get home.  It usually takes us just under 4 hours.  There was a lot of traffic getting out of Galveston and there was an accident on I-45 around Dickensen.  It may have been even longer but the speed limit on I-10 recently changed to 75, even at night. We were glad to finally get home.

Easter, part 1

We got to have 3 Easter Egg hunts this year.  The first one was at the Galveston Ward.  They had it divided between the babies up to 3 years on one side of the church, and the older children on the other side of the church.

After Norah had filled the bottom of her basket, she just walked away.  She told me, "I have enough eggs already, Mama."

Later that day, we went to the Yeates' house to celebrate Easter with the Hurst side of the family. It was lots of fun and we had another Easter egg hunt.

 Confetti eggs are fun!

Maybe we had a little bit too much fun. :)

Miniature Golf!

We took Norah mini-golfing for the first time and she had a great time. When I was trying to explain to her what golfing was and I described how the ball has to go in the hole, she said, "But I don't want to fall into the hole!" I had to tell her the hole was very little so she didn't have to worry. :)

Bluebonnets

Thanks to the wonderful weather this spring, we had some beautiful wildflowers springing up everywhere.  We had to capture the beauty of these flowers.

(that's the hospital in the background)

Norah had to be very brave to sit up here. It was a very high wall.
