Finally a chance to BREATHE!

So in case you were wondering what happened to Katherine and David. Well... ALOT!

Most of you already know but if you dont... Katherine is Pregnant. We are going to have a child in November, and that is really exciting.
Unfortunately other than that none of the stuff that has happened has been that amazing or story worthy. We have just been very very busy.
For example this week I (david) had 4 tests. One in Advanced Anatomy, 2 In Organic Chemistry (one of which was a Final), 1 in Evolution (BIO 475). On top of all that last week I had to write an 8 page paper for evolution that I had already been working on all semester, but the teacher wanted me to do it on a different topic. (EVEN THOUGHT THE ASSIGNMENT WAS "pick your own topic, whatever interests you"). He didn't want to read my topic so I had to change 3/4 of my paper in one week, finding a whole bunch of different sources.

And Katherine has been feeling the effects of the first trimester, so she has not been too eager to write something on the blog.

BUT THERE STILL IS MORE...
we also found out that we have to move. Our apartment complex has decided to change their policy in regards to pets, without telling anyone until we heard it through people that live across town and asked the managers about it. So we now have to find a new place to live that allows pets. This would not be a very hard taskf we lived anywhere else besides Rexburg, Idaho. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE allows dogs in this city. So that has added alot of stress to our lives.

Add all of that together PLUS me in the middle of applying to dental school and preparing to take the DAT, we just have not had alot of time to keep up on the blog. but we'll try to do better later, once we finaly get a chance to breathe.

Hidden blessing

So Katherine was in that horibble accident; however, It turns out that it was a HUGE blessing in disguise.
Since we got married we have been trying to refinnance her PT cruiser, it had a 18% APR and we were making payments of $332 per month. It was really hurting us. After much trying and praying we could not find anyone that would refinnance us because first we were upside down (meaning we owed more than the car was worth) then after getting a nice chunk of money we made a huge payment on the car and came out from being upside down. Then the problem was that I do not have any car loan history so they would not finnance us. (aparently you need car loan history to get a car loan and you can't get car loan history without a car loan, explain to me how that works?)

In short we were in a real bind. Then all of a sudden she gets in the horibble reck. Yet NOTHING happened to her. She was completely fine. I consider that a miracle and blessing right there, but there is more.

Well, we found out about the insurance. We still owe $9100 on the PT, they are going to pay us $9500, so we are completly getting rid of that high intrest loan, and making a profit. ALSO we found a great new car (A 2001 Chevy Blazer), we finnanced it with out any problems and cut our interest rate by more than half AND cut our monthy payments by about 200 dollars.

Our worries for the PT cruiser and making its payments are OUT THE WINDOW!... This is A HUGE blessing that this happened, and a very interesting way that the Lord answered our prayers.

Not such a good day

So this is my car, or what's left of it as of 8:00 am Tuesday. That snow bank on the right is what made this possible. The ice also played a major role. On the left, you can see one lane. My lane is the one with all the ice and snow. Lucky me. As I got to this spot in the road, I realized that my lane was gone, so I had to drive in the middle of the road. My wheels hit one of the many ruts in the road and turned my car to the right. I tried to correct it but the sheet of ice wouldn't let me. I hit the snow bank and flipped. Then I skid for a while until I stopped. That slightly green area in the bottom left corner is the glass from my windows. That's where I hit the ground after I flipped and then you can see how far my car went until it stopped sliding. (by the way, it's facing the opposite way then the way I was driving.)

Here is a closer picture of the bottom of my car. Not bad for my first accident. Seriously, I have never had a fender bender or ever had a ticket and here I go totally flipping my car and totalling it on my first try! When I do something, I do it all the way!

Here is the window that they pulled me out of. The blue towel that's on the ground or what used to be my windshield was put there by someone so that I wouldn't fall into the glass when I took my seatbelt off. I had alot of glass all over me: in my hair, on my jacket, and even in my teeth, but the only scratch on me was a centimeter long (fingernail scratch size) on my right thumb. I feel so thankful that I wasn't hurt. I feel that this is a prime example of why we should wear our seatbelts. If I hadn't been, I would've gone out the window like my purse did. Every morning, David and I pray that we will be safe on the roads. I know that this is a prayer answered because I am safe.

And as a side note, we had been wondering how we were going to keep making payments on this car, but not anymore! (at least we hope that the insurance check will cover a big majority of the cost of the car, even if it won't pay all that we owe)

Does anybody have a car for us?

We are still alive!!!

Yes, don't worry we have not fallen off the face of the planet. We just have not had anything happen to us in a while. Without kids and going to school all day it just gets very repatitious.

I guess I could give you all an update. Well, I am taking 4 classes this semester: Anatomy 460 (with my cousin Nate Brooks in my class), Evolution (aka BIO 475), Chemistry 352 (the second half of Organic chemistry) and Business 361. I have a very heavy load with all these upper level classes, hence no time to write. Also I have 2 jobs on campus. I tutor Chemistry, and I am a TA for Cell Biology (aka BIO 376).
I have no life except Katherine.

As for Katherine, she has been sick for about a week but is doing better now. She is still teaching and loves it.

Oh by the way, this year we have the most Snow that idaho has seen in quite a few years. It is nuts. I'll post pictures soon.

Man VS Wild

So Discovery channel is one of our favorite channels. However we really dont watch this show. Anyway funny story, We were watching "Mythbusters" and a commercial for Man VS Wild came on. They are doing a special episode of all the interesting things that he has eaten. Well, if you have not seen it, in the begining he picks up a little tree frog and bites it's head off. Then it explains the show. Well we did not know this, so as he walked up to the tree and grabed the frog, he showed the camera and Katherine say's "awww what a cute tree frog" then in the next second he bit the head off and katherine screamed and shreeked away like a little kid who just saw their pet fish die. It was the funniest thing to see the transition from "AWWWW to AHHHH"

It was one of those thing you had to be there to expirence but I thought I would share anyway!

Nicaragua Part two.. The Playing!

Well, After 5 days of work we went to a resort on the pacific coast to relax, It was fun, but not really great. I really misseed Katherine while I was there, it would have been great if she could have come with me.

But there was alot to do. We stayed on Montelimar Beach resort, where the largest pool in central and south america resides. I went boogie boarding in about 6-7 foot wake, swimming and things like that. well here are some pictures.
